How long should I rest between sets?

Rest times between sets depend on your fitness goals:

  • For strength: Rest 2-3 minutes to allow muscles to fully recover for the next heavy set.
  • For hypertrophy (muscle growth): Rest 60-90 seconds to maintain intensity while still allowing recovery.
  • For endurance: Rest 30-60 seconds to keep your heart rate elevated and improve cardiovascular endurance.
